About the event

Who is this for?

Young people aged 13–19 from any background, especially those who have faced or worry about facing discrimination, exclusion, or intolerance. This session is safe for participants with different levels of confidence: some may feel ready to share their stories, while others may prefer to listen and learn. Mental wellbeing is always prioritised — those with anxiety, trauma, or low confidence will be supported with gentle options to engage at their own pace.

Hour 1: Coping with Intolerance – Practical Strategies & Rights Awareness

Purpose: To give young people the knowledge and confidence to recognise unfair treatment, know their rights, and practise safe responses.

What happens:

  • Scenario warm-up: “What would you do if…?” — small groups discuss everyday examples (someone mocks your accent, refuses to let you join in, or stereotypes you).
