About the event
Who is this for?
Young people aged 13–19 who want to feel more confident about recognising discrimination, knowing their rights, and communicating in ways that are powerful but safe. This session is especially supportive for those who may have felt silenced, misunderstood, or treated unfairly. Mental health is prioritised — we frame everything in a safe, guided way so no one feels pressured to share beyond their comfort zone.
Hour 1: Facing Discrimination – Knowing Your Rights, Standing Up Safely
Purpose: To equip young people with knowledge of their rights and safe strategies for responding to discrimination.
What happens:
Interactive opener: “Is this discrimination?” — participants sort example scenarios (from obvious racism to subtle exclusion) into “yes/no/maybe” categories. This sparks discussion on how discrimination can look.
